and we’ll be back to our normal winter temps (low 30s), and night-time runs won’t feel like an elephant sitting on your chest. Holy cow, it was hard to breathe tonight. It could have been all the snot, or the gusts of 30mph winds, or just all the extra clothing, but I’ll be glad to see 30F (which I think we’re supposed to hit on Sunday)!
I ran my Winter Warrior 3 miles at a nice 9:40/mile clip–too cold to stay out there any longer than necessary. And it felt good, once my brain and limbs defrosted.
It’s hard for me to get excited about running at night. By the time I’m home from work, I just want to cook/eat dinner, hear about the Things’ days, and watch some TV and knit. Tonight, given the temp (20F) and the wind chill (-1F), I almost bagged my run, but Janathon prodded me along. That and the reward of salt & vinegar chips.
Earlier today, I was the featured “mother runner” on the Another Mother Runner website! I really enjoy reading my knitting and running blogs, and AMR is especially entertaining because some of the topics they cover (not just on their blog, but on their FB page) are things that I’ve either wondered about, or have never ever crossed my mind. Their FB “TMI Tuesdays” are not for the faint of heart. Ever.
All in all, even given the cold (and the corresponding cha-ching of my heating bill), it was a good day.
Janathon Totals:
- today’s miles: 3.02
- total Janathon miles: 74 miles
- daily average # of hits to my blog: 30
- # of hits following my debut on AMR: over 500! (welcome readers!)

I have to admit … you are super dedicated. I know I should ride my bike to work … even if it is dark and rainy and cold … but I am kind of wimpy that way. So … I will let you soldier on for all of us fair weather exercisors out there! lol
i’m usually not this dedicated–it’s Janathon that gets me out there!
I found your blog yesterday through Another Mother Runner and I have a feeling I’m really going to love it. It’s freezing here just north of NYC so I know what you’re talking about. My run yesterday was awesome but it took me a good 15 minutes to thaw enough to be able to jump in the shower.
Thanks for heads up on amr I have subscribed and eagerly await TMI Tuesdays !
Just wait…you’re in store for something!
